A lot of controversy surrounds the preservation of sea run trout and salmon. Irrigation and hydroelectricity have had detrimental effects on rivers and the spawning fish in them. Conceding that point, five basic fish ladder designs have been employed around the world. At just a glance though, it’s no wonder sea run fish are so fucked up…

    Why aren’t fish ladders constructed like a natural river? Drop pool…..riffles…..pools……MAKE them longer and less obstructive!
