The Round Table

This crew works tirelessly to piece together BLOOD KNOT Magazine®…and God bless ‘em!

Jason Duong
Business Development
Jason@Bloodknot.net
Jason has been fly fishing for over 15 years, cutting his teeth on such famed waters as the Frying Pan and Dream Stream. Fly fishing has grown from a hobby to a passion, and ultimately an obsession, taking him from pursuits in Colorado to chasing roosters in Baja—he searches for new species and destinations to test his skills.

Matt Coudayre
Managing Editor
Matt@Bloodknot.net

Matt thinks Hemingway did it right. With some subtle changes, he’d like a life of adventure that spawned great literature. He’d backpack through Austria with a few buddies and some rods, and he’d write a novel about it. He’d have a little place in the Bahamas and maybe a ranch in Steamboat Springs where he could carve through the aspen on mornings with powder, and fish the Yampa in the afternoon. He’d buy a flats boat and another for water skiing. And in between it all, he’d write for a little magazine called, Blood Knot.

James Robles
Editor of Journal World
James@Bloodknot.net
James spent his early days skiing in the Sierra Nevada’s—his ultimate inspiration to push farther east towards the Rocky Mountains. After bumping around the country, attending various colleges, he settled in Boulder, Colorado, where he graduated from the University of Colorado in 2009. Now in his first year out of college, James is enjoying the passions he had begrudgingly halted in lieu of academics.

Emily Neiley
Editor of Bitch Creek
Emily@Bloodknot.net
Emily learned to fish shortly after learning to walk, and has spent the ensuing years earning the lasting resentment of fish from coast to coast. She currently lives in Greeley, Colorado, and fishes wherever she can get a line wet–though Rocky Mountain trout streams are her favorite.

Dave Román
Gear Editor
David@Bloodknot.net

Born and bred in California, Dave is a multi-subject teacher by trade, but pursues his love of the outdoors on every possible occasion. As editor of the hallowed grounds of the Gear Section, he indulges his passion for analyzing all manner of gear so that Blood Knot readers get the most precise, informative, and useful reviews in the industry. Whether he’s streamside, riding sweet singletrack, summiting a peak, or exploring the terrain below, don’t hesitate to stop him to say hi and chat about whatever you find him doing at the moment.

Ben Ward
Saltwater Editor
Ben@Bloodknot.net
Ben is a banking industry professional but a fly fisherman at heart. He has been tying flies and double hauling since before A River Runs Through It made the sport cool. Growing up in the Deep South, his early years were spent casting flies to warm water pan-fish on the backwaters of the Chattahoochee. Later, he went on to pursue fish on the fly from East to West Coast. In recent years, his obsession has been slinging bugs to hungry saltwater species along the Gulf Coast and ICWW of Alabama.
